Flipped Classrooms

The Flipped Classroom pedagogy reverses conventional teaching methods by enabling students to view lectures online and come to class ready to engage with instructors and collaborate with peers. A comprehensive strategy to enable flipped classrooms at UF includes a 24/7 Mediasite streaming platform and classrooms designed for flexibility. Mediasite allows faculty to record multimedia presentations from a classroom or lecture hall, studio, or even a home/office PC, and post streaming media content directly to a course's Canvas site.

UFIT provides support to faculty in adapting their courses to utilize active learning and the flipped classroom pedagogy through consultation, workshops, and full instructional design services at the Center for Instructional Technology and Training.
