I Cannot Download Files In Internet Explorer

If you are able to log into E-Learning, but find you can not download files you may need to reconfigure your browser. With one of the recent Windows Updates, Internet Explore has begun blocking downloads to make your computer more secure.

If your computer is affected by this update, you will see a pale yellow error bar at the top of the Internet Explorer browser when you try to click on a file link inside E-Learning. The bar will have the caption

"To help protect your security, Internet Explorer blocked this site from downloading files to your computer. Click here for options."

To disable this feature, go to Tools > Internet Options > Security Tab > Custom Level for Security Zone > Downloads and change these settings to Enable. This may seem counterintuitive, but enabling here allows your browser to pop up a window that asks "Do you want to open or save this file?"
